Policies and Procedures

RESERVATION POLICY
All reservations are to be made through the website via email.  Just
because you have phoned PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC does not mean
you have a reservation.  You will get confirmation of your reservation by
me personally via email.  You will be contacted with 10 days before your
departure to confirm the reservation as well.  If for any reason you DO NOT
hear from me before you leave, please contact me to confirm that we are
set to go for your reservation.  We are all human and errors and
miscommunications can occur, which is why I will contact you again
before you leave on your trip.

PAYMENT POLICY
Payment by either check or cash is accepted.  ALL PAYMENTS must be
paid in full at the time of booking or on the first day service begins. Failure
to leave payment will result in PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC canceling your
booking and YOU will be responsible for handling the remainder of your
pet’s care during your absence.

RETURNED CHECK FEES
All returned checks will be charged an additional $40 fee. You will be
charged an additional fee of $10 per day until payment is received in full.

EMERGENCY CONTACTS
Your emergency contact listed on your initial Service Contract must have
access to your home in your absence and be willing and able to provide
ALL CARE for your pets in the case of an emergency.  This includes all
natural and man made disasters, as well as if PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC
is unable, for any reason, to continue providing care for your pet.  Refunds
on services will be made accordingly to all missed visits by PET BUDDY
Pet Sitting, LLC.   

If you do not have a current Service Contract on file with us or wish to
update your Contract information, please contact the office. Any new pets
or new addresses require a New Service Contract to be filled out in its
entirety.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR NON HOLIDAY VISITS
7 days notice is required for cancellation of all scheduled bookings for
personal or business trips for NON HOLIDAY visits . Please understand the
schedule may become full and new or existing clients may be declined
service. The spot that you have reserved could have been filled by these
clients.  When you cancel at the last minute, these spots can no longer be
filled and a cancellation charge WILL BE incurred for any cancellations
less than 7 days.  Rare exceptions are made for emergency situations.
Cancellation charges are 50% of the total amount for you booking.

HOLIDAY CANCELLATION POLICY
(THIS INCLUDES EASTER DAY, THE WEEKENDS OF MEMORIAL DAY,
4TH OF JULY & LABOR DAY AND THE WEEKS OF THANKSGIVING,
CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR’S)
All holiday bookings will incur the following cancellation fees:
More than 30 days in advance of the first visit:  $100 charge
All cancellations within 30 days of the first visit: the cancellation fee is the
entire amount of the booking.  
You will be invoiced for all cancellation fees and payment is due NET 10
days.

HOLIDAY SURCHARGE
Holiday charges will be time and a half for each visit for the following
holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of
July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  If you
choose to avoid this surcharge, your pet will receive an Express Visit of 10-
15 minutes at the regular contracted service rate per visit. Express visits
are not available for pets with special needs that require medications or
help getting out to go potty.

VISIT POLICY
ALL PETS WILL BE VISITED AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 24 HOURS.   There
are no exceptions to his policy.  Visiting less than this can result in poor
quality pet care and the serious illness or injury to your pet.
Due to pet illness or accidents, traffic, inclement weather, etc., I CAN NOT
guarantee a specific time to visit your pets.  Therefore, all visits will be
done according to a 2-4 hour time frame.  All pets requiring medications or
special needs pets will have first priority on the schedule.  These pets do
require a more consistent time frame and will be scheduled accordingly.  
Visits are usually between 20-30 minutes long.  If you require a longer visit
or if a longer visit is incurred, you will be charged extra for that time.
Please pet proof your house and yard before you leave for your trip.  PET
BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC will not be held liable if your pet causes damage to
your house or gets loose due to owner error.  All pets must be confined to
the owner’s home or premises, unless they are secure on a leash and  in
the control of the pet sitter.  As a result, electronic fences are not covered
under the liability insurance.  PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC will be held
harmless for these types of devices.  No visits will be allowed at OFF
LEASH Dog Parks either.  Your pet must be under the care, custody and
control of the pet sitter at all times in order for the liability insurance to
provide coverage.  

PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC will always use discretion in the care of your
pets.  If the weather is too cold, too hot or there is inclement weather, the
pet sitter reserves the right to make all final decisions on walks.  Please
note that your heat or AC inside the house may be adjusted due to the pet’
s care or to help keep your pipes from freezing.  These are only examples
and by no means are all inclusive in the types of decisions that will be
made regarding your pet and your home.  

PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC DOES NOT share pet care with anyone else in
your absence.  PET BUDDY PET Sitting, LLC will have a definite start and
stop time for the care of your pets.   If there are other people who will be
visiting your home while you are away, please notify me before you leave.   
Please provide their name and the make and model of their vehicle to avoid
any unnecessary calls to law enforcement.   I will contact the police if I
believe someone else is in the house and I do not know ahead of time to
expect them.  A word of caution, if there is damage to your home or injury
to your pet, PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC WILL NOT be held liable unless it
is proven that the damage or injury was a direct result of negligence on the
part of the pet sitter.

KEY COPIES AND ACCESS TO YOUR HOME
All customers need to provide 2 FULL working sets of keys at the initial
“meet and greet” visit. A key copy charge will be assessed if only one
working set is provided.  For those clients initially contracted before 1/1/06
who have allowed a copy your key to be kept on file, an extra copy will be
made of your key at our expense.  For those clients who choose not to
keep your key on file with PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC,  there is a key drop
off/pick up charge of $15 for each trip.

The pet sitter must have access to your home via a key to a door.  If your
pet is strictly outdoors, access to the home in case of an emergency or
inclement weather must still be allowed.  Due to power outages and
sensitive garage door openers, PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC must have a
key to a door in addition to any garage door openers or key pad codes for
garage doors.  
Per the liability insurance company I CAN NOT accept keys left under mats
or hidden outdoors.  All keys must be provided to me prior to your
departure if they are not already kept on file. A waiver of liability must be
completed if you are leaving a key in an unsecured location for the pet
sitter.

PROOF OF VACCINATIONS
The owner will be responsible for providing PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC
with a current vaccination history.  There must be a copy on file for ALL
Clients for Liability purposes. If I do not have a copy, please contact me as
to how to provide the office with a current copy.

EMERGENCY VET CARE
In the event of your pet’s illness or injury, PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC will
make every attempt to contact you.  If you can not be contacted
IMMEDIATELY, the pet sitter’s discretion will be used as to whether your
pet needs veterinarian care.  PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC will provide
transportation to your primary vet if possible or to North Dekalb Veterinary
Clinic during normal business hours and to Dekalb Gwinnett Emergency
Animal Clinic after hours, on weekends and on holidays.  You will be
responsible for all previous medical and financial arrangements with the
vet.  

None of us want to think about the limits we are willing to go to help our
pets in an emergency.  But for their sake, please give serious
consideration to the medical care that you would like for each individual
pet and for financial limits, if any, that you need to establish for their care.  
You will be asked to supply PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC with this
information on the meet and greet and it will be retained on file.  PET
BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC  WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MEDICAL
DECISIONS REGARDING YOUR PET OR FOR FINANACIAL PAYMENT FOR
YOUR PET’S VETERINARIAN CARE.  

PICTURES OF YOUR PET
Pictures will be taken of your pet to be used for their files in helping to
identify your pet in a disaster or emergency.   The pictures may also be
posted in the Client Photos section on the website.  If you do not wish to
have your pet's picture taken, please notify the pet sitter at the meet and
greet.

WHEN YOU RETURN HOME
It is the pet owner’s responsibility to contact me via email or phone upon
your safe return home.  PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US UNTIL YOU ARE
AT YOUR HOME, NOT THE AIRPORT OR HEADED BACK TO YOUR HOME.
If any additional visits are made by PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC and you
have returned home without notifying me, you will be assessed visit
charges for these trips.  Please note that if there is a delay in your return, I
will do my best to accommodate you.  If PET BUDDY Pet Sitting, LLC is
unable to continue to care for your pet until you are able to return home,
your emergency contact will be notified and they will be responsible for the
further care of your pet.

responsible pet owners.  I will always be here to address any questions or
concerns that you have about these policies or about planning for your pet’
s care in your absence.  I take great pride in providing exceptional pet
